"The Survivalist may be the best post-apocalyptic series out there," raves Steve Erwood of the Disaster Preparedness Blog. "In addition to a steady stream of gunfights with zombie-like mutants, roadway bandits, and opportunistic warlords, the books teach dozens of useful survival tricks. Learn to hotwire cars, construct homemade booby traps, build garbage-powered generators, and retrieve fuel from abandoned gas pumps."
Bryan Foster, author of The Prepper's Handbook, says "It's rare to find books this entertaining that are so well researched." Nicholas Sansbury Smith, author of Extinction Horizon, adds "The Survivalist books are incredibly addictive. They create a cool western vibe not seen since Louis L'Amour's timeless classics."
Dark Days is the eighth book in a series described as "a cross between Justified and The Walking Dead." Still reeling from the death of President Glass, Deputy Marshal Mason Raines finds himself working for the New Colony. Using his unique skills as both lawman and soldier, he leads an elite team tasked with retrieving critical supplies for mankind's last survivors. While delivering goods to an independent food supplier, known only as "The Farm," Mason uncovers a secret that goes against all that it means to be human. Refusing to join their ranks, he soon finds himself the target of a man willing to do anything to keep that secret from being revealed.
Hundreds of miles away, Tanner and Samantha investigate a cryptic call from the Watts Bar Nuclear Facility. There they discover a menace so great that it threatens to leave the surrounding area forever uninhabitable. When Tanner is captured by a militia group, Samantha is faced with not only surviving on her own, but also finding a way to secure his escape.
With Tanner and Samantha away, Issa secretly departs for Mount Weather to share the exciting news of her pregnancy. Armed with an elephant rifle and her two trusty blades, she discovers a band of men trafficking in those who have been afflicted with the virus. It is then that Issa must decide where her loyalties lie, as well as how much risk she and her unborn child can endure.

Dark Days The Survivalist Book 8 eBook Arthur Bradley
This is another in the series following Marshall Raines and his son Tanner along with Samantha, the assassinated presidents daughter as they try to navigate a post apocolyptic world. While I've enjoyed all of the books to this point, the storyline is getting old. I would love to see a point in the saga where they settle down and try to start anew. Unfortunately, this book was more of the same of the last 4 books. Marshall Raines go out on his adventure, Tanner and Samantha go on theirs. Issa, Tanner new wife embarks on her own. I can already see the plot for the next book without even reading it. Issa is still not home, so of course Tanner and Samantha will go on an rescue mission. While entertaining, these stories are getting stale. My hope is that Marshall Raines, his faithful dog Bowie, Tanner, Samantha and Issa will try to build a life and the world will start to recover. I'm finding it difficult to continue buying these books knowing it's more of the same. 3 stars because the books are well written and I love the characters, I would like, however, to see a change in the story lines.Product details

Dark Days The Survivalist Book 8 eBook Arthur Bradley Reviews
Another great installment of the Survivalist series with suspense, action, and top-notch writing. One thing you can count on with these books is picking up some survival tips along the way. Not many other post apocalyptic books do that. Thank you Dr. Bradley for sharing your gift with us!
Dr. Bradley's story of post pandemic survival continues to satisfy and surprise his fans.
The characters you have come to love are still as fresh as the original book and continue to develop relationships with new characters in well researched and described locales.
My only issue is that the last book seemed shorter even though I tried to make it last (knowing it was the last one available)
I hope he will continue this series for at least a bit longer.
Great characters, great story.
I now own all the series up through #8. Each and every book is a good standalone read.a lot of work has gone into this series good sentence structure solid background information.
I would suggest that any new reader start with book one.this is because as you read them the storyline really developed and you wont want to. miss any of as some of the later books clarify interesting points on the previous books.
Buy them all my.. I also have all the audible the narrator is that good , John David Farrell is simply outstanding.
I've read all of the series and this one I'll give 4 stars. Not as good as the others, but well worth reading. I will stay with this author as his quality of writing is so very good. I think there is still a lot of story to be told. Some authors write too many sequels, but with this story more will be needed for the story to be told well. That's no always the case. Some of my favorite indie authors need to start a new project instead of a new release 10. All of this author's work has been 5 star work easily. The series is that good!
This latest book could be my favorite in the series! It has everything! Adventure, romance, suspense, and twists and turns! Well now that I say that, all the books in the Survivalist series have everything! I never never never write book reviews...too busy, don't really care, watching paint dry, etc. etc, BUT for this series I wanted to. I have loved all of them and get sick to my stomach when I finish one.....knowing that it may be a couple of months before the next book comes out. I would love to share everything I liked about the book but I don't want to give away anything! I'll give a little hint though, there was a twist that I really did not see coming and it was perfect! Mr. Bradley.....Keep 'em coming! Potential Reader.....READ IT
Arthur Bradley is one of those authors that when their newest book comes out I save it for special occasions so I can really enjoy it to the fullest! I had to be away from home last week and I took my w/me expressly so that I could savor the story. Love his characters and, as always, the interplay between a "hard" man and a 12 year old girl are totally well written. I swear the author is so inside his characters that he's just voicing them and not making up the story!
Love this one as well as all the others and can't wait for the next one - he's the guy who can make you believe in almost any monster and think it's rational! Keep them coming, Dr Bradley! Well done as always!
If I remember correctly, this series was supposed to stop at book #6...I am so grateful that they are continuing! I have become completely invested in these characters and their storylines. As a parent, I do find it difficult to rationalize some ot the choices that (pregnant) Issa is making, but love the dynamic between Tanner & Samantha, and Marshall Raines &Bowie (who is still my favorite character!!!)
Dr. Bradley makes it so easy to turn these books into a learning opportunity. At the end of each one, I take some time to look back and reflect on how the characters resolved certain situations they found themselves in, and add what I've learned to my ever growing arsenal of knowledge!
