Heck no, we didn't have to go through those bushes. Because this historic traditional house was being moved from Kedah to Kuala Lumpur in the year 1995.
It is believe to be an architecture heritage of Malaysia as this house was built in the 1920s. It was dismantled, moved and rebuilt in the heart of KL. Using most of the original materials. Unless they were not strong enough, replacements would be used. Other than that, everything was as accurate as it could be. ie. Measurement, Material, etc.
I felt quite impressed to see such an antique (nearly 100 yrs old) in KL.
The house was rebuilt & renovated in 1995 and was completed in 1997.
I was impressed by the capability of people in the olden days.
Can you imagine? This house used to exist in the middle of nowhere.
It was built in one of the jungles in Kedah.
No one realized it until a certain time. It was passed down by Penghulu Abu Seman to his son. Unfortunately, the heritage stopped.
Of course, the house was abandoned.
Pictures were very limited. We were not allowed to take many pictures of the interior. This was a sneaky shot of the office. *naughty looks*
Snapshots of architecture materials like Trusses were allowed.
I'm amazed by these designs.
Hand crafted by people from the past.
It is indeed a tough project for us because we have to follow and make sure that every detail is done exactly the same as the original. Difference is just in terms of scale.
Windings needed to be done specifically too.
Even the doors, windows, number of tiles on the roof has to be exact on our model.
Things were really rough this morning because the lady 'entertaining' us was freaking RUDE! I repeat, RUDE. Yes. Bold rude. Harsh and blunt. Most of us were literally cursing her in our hearts. Tell me why won't you be pissed when she says...
'YES?! How can I help you?!' (when we first arrived.) <--- unfriendly tone. Bad first impression. 'I don't know?!? No one told me that you're coming.'
'If you don't have an appointment, you're not allowed to come in.' (Come on la, if we didnt make an appointment, why would we be there? duh!)
'Why are you students doing this project?! Tell your lecturers to change!'
'Why are your lecturers so lazy?! I have scolded so many lecturers and I don't understand why they want their students to research about this house?!'
'You! pay $5, 10, 15, 20, 25 , 30 , 35!' (she was pratically pointing at everyone of us while she increases the amount of money according to the number of ppl)
'Next time, don't get your mum to make an appointment!' (I dont see why that's her business)
'Students' drawing plans are not top-notched.' (And I wonder why she still uses them?)
'You want to get married early?! Go find a Muslim and get married now. Then you can live in a house like that.' (wtf-udge?!)
'Don't need to take pictures la!!! Remember them with your head!' (WTH)
'You're limited only 5 mins for picture taking of the entire house!' (Read between the lines)
etc etc.
I can't possibly remember all her rude lines. I just remembered that I had the urge to.. Nevermind. You don't wanna know. During research, rather than putting down the books properly, She literally threw them on the table. ?!?!?!?
No standard la lay-deh!
As quoted by the others: 'If it wasn't for the project, we would have effed her!'
HAHAHAHAHAH!! I sooooo freaking agree with them. Anyways, I better stop talking in case she comes around my blog and reads this.
Perhaps I will end up in Jail tomorrow. Remember to bail me out with RM 2000 k people. XD
Other than that teensy thing, we had loads of fun.
The other thing which made us so pissed was..
We were already starving because we didn't have breakfast, and yet.. she kept going on with her rudeness.. Can you imagine how we felt? Freaking annoyed. Every single one of us had an empty stomach. Please do not mess with hungry people.
Later, we went off to times square for our meal. yay! I'm happy. =)
That's pretty much my day. Nothing interesting (i think?). I just know that I don't wanna talk to that lady ever again. Neither do I wanna see her. I guess that's what kept me from snapping back at her. Because I know I don't have to see her again. Hahaha!!!
Well, i get what you mean. Some people might think the other way round. ;)
Anyways, Angeline has her resources. ;) That's why I've managed to get Shiseido masks at such a cheap price!! =D
Heck no, it's not made in china. Originally from Japan okay? XD
I just got back from my uni's talent show. It was enjoyable. Though some contestants were capable of making my mind wander some place else, other than that, everything was great.
I was expecting piano solos. Apparently no one did that. Quite disappointing.
There were people singing, rapping, beat-boxing, dancing, playing guitar (alot) etc.. Most of them did really well.
I miss playing piano. I really do. So so much. ='(
After the talent show, I happened to walk pass the music department. A door was left ajar, displaying a piano.
The next thing you can ever imagine was me screaming.. 'AHH PIANOOO!!!'
Then.. I dashed into the room, laying my fingers on those keys. Played a lil bit. Felt the peace and calmness.
Since I left Brunei, I haven't laid my fingers on the piano for more than a month, I felt so desperate. Longing for a piano.. The touch of the keys.. The tune.. Ahhh.. *dreams*
I will definitely find a day and book the room, if it's possible. And just play my heart out. Till I feel so contented. I'm always afraid that I will lose this talent if I stop playing for a long time. Hopefully not.
Anyways, my fever has gone down alot by this afternoon. So thank god. =) I shall be going for a site visit tomorrow morning. Pffft. Means I have to wake up early, which I always dread. -.-
Also, before I forget, I wanna congratulate Andrew because he has gotten his appreticeship!!!
The company rejected him 2 weeks ago (if I'm not wrong) but.. out of the blue, they called him back today. I believe this is the great works of God. Prayers. Keep praying and this is what you'll get. I know Andrew is really happy about it. Overjoyed till he cried. Tears of joy. That's good. I'm happy for you too Andrew. All the best k! =)
It was really unexpected. All of a sudden, in class this morning, I felt a chill. Then, my body started to ache all over. I could feel a sharp pinch even with the slightest drumming of fingers against the table.
For me, this means I will be getting a fever soon. And yea, I was right about it because, after the morning class, I went back to my hostel.. feeling feverish. Took a panadol, and went to sleep. Then I heard someone knocking on my door. It was Suevy.
How sweet of her, Shea Li and her made a huge bottle of liang-cha (tea) for me. She demanded me to not leave a single drop by tonight. I felt really touched. =')
I'm blessed to have friends like that even when I'm so far away from home.
I started to think about my friends back in Brunei. How much they mean to me too...
Of course, as all of you know.. The first one I'll talk about would be Wan Sien. She has been my closest friend.. Since.. ?? I guess secondary. We grew closer to each other in Sec.
Actually WS has been classmates with me since Primary 1. But we were just normal friends. Anyways, in Pri 1, I rmbr always seeing her eating a small bag of fish balls and I used to envy so much because I never got to buy fish balls. Pfft!
She is the one who can insult me so badly (playfully) and get away with it.
I know at times, she has the urge to just kick my ass. Nevertheless, she still loves me in the end. I know that. ;)
Friends forever
You better not forget about me after you settle down in the UK, you gay short potato!! =P
Of course, the next group of friends would be the people from church.
Even though I know them not as long as I know WS, but they have played such important roles in my heart.
Angie (left) is the one who does crazy things with me all the time. As for Huiting (right), I would say she is the kind and sweet one. We can be ourselves whenever we're together. =)
Angie and Ange
I miss everyone from my church! I miss the late nights after SG.
Most of them aren't in this pic. Still, I love them. =)
The following would be friends from my schools ie. Chms (12 years) and MD (2 years)
Y.Shien, Sally (I miss her so much!)
I remember most of us (girls) used to whine so much about the tudong when we were accepted into MD. Practically everyday, for the past 2 years, we would sulk and whine at the white cloth across our heads. That's because we were so not used to it. Slowly, it was still bearable.
Orientation day (Feb 2007). On WS' Phone camera. I pouted because I was so bored.
I remember feeling faint and dizzy when I first put on the tudong.
Get used to it. I go around hugging friends. And just.. manja-ing them for no reason.
Lu and Cai yen were so used to it.
Lulu and I.
I'm such a lucky girl cause I've got 2 hot girls kissing me. *bleah* (Featuring Lu and CY, again..)
This is one of the greatest memories.
I had to perform a dance (Mr. Q) with my fellow girlfriends during our graduation night in CHMS. (After our O levels)
3 years ago. November 2006. Time really does fly.
Vivid memories.
As always, these people will remain in my heart. =)
And most definitely, my Form 5 class. (F5B) =)
Try spotting me. =P
There's always a time for everything.
Now, I have to start a new chapter of my life in a completely new environment.
I have found my new group of friends. They always remind me of the people I met back home.
Whenever I think about that, it always puts a smile across my face. =)
I'm grateful for the new friends God has appointed me. I know one day, when we look back, we will have the same great memories I've always have with my Brunei friends. =)
I shall be resting for abit tonight. Still feeling feverish and unwell. Wish me get well soon.. *coughs*
It's like a season for me. I am crazy about sunnies. So madly in love with them.
Presenting my new pair of grey shades...
Like my new baby?
It costs darn cheap. Haha!!! Only rm 15. I know right?
It looks extremely expensive. Too bad. Ange cant afford branded shades, because if I did..
I would be demanding thousands of dollars from my dad. Lol!! Especially from the way I spend money nowadays.. O.O
Welcome to the family
I have 3 of these now. Got the brown one from China Town, KL. That's damn cheap too. rm 20 only. wahahahahah!!! Black one is from Brunei. I love my collection of shades. I shall get some more. =D
Other than that, I also bought a pair of white shorts from the pasar malam. *laughs* also cheap. rm 25. Was worried that I couldn't fit in it. But thank goodness, when I got back.. It fitted perfectly. I'm not that thin ok. That's why I doubted. xD
Long day tomorrow. 8am-630pm of class. Only an hour break in between. Wish me luck. Pray that I don't fall asleep in front of the lecturer again. Nitey~
I never believe in blogging about the extremes of my personal life because.. From my point of view, I find it very inappropriate and the public doesn't need to know that much about me. I seldom project the real sadness, anger, pain etc in me because I just don't see why I have to do it. Some people tend to see blogging as a reservoir for their bad emotions. But uh uh.. it doesn't work for me that way.
Despite, this post would be an exception. Probably one in a thousand posts.. You would be reading this.. You're lucky?
I don't need to be so specific of what I have done because that's not the main focus.
The point is.. I have caused unnecessary stress and pressure upon Andrew and I truly feel guilty and ashamed of myself because it is very inconsiderate of me to distract him during his exams. One of the crucial periods of his life. I know things like that is inevitable but I cant help feeling bad.
Other than Andrew, I feel guilty to another person I have hurt. I know every word from me seems to be very contradicting. But, I do mean the word Sorry from the bottom of my heart to these 2 people.
I wont blame anyone of them because the fault lies in me. But it does get on my nerves when people tend to act smart, and give me solutions which they think will work in words but in reality, it isn't as easy as they think it is. Lip Service. (I'm not emphasizing on every one who talked to me because most of them are very considerate) like my best friend, WS, Andrew's mum, uni pals and etc. thanks =)
I am willing to admit that it is my fault and I can say, I'm very sorry about it. In this situation, I am truly humble to these 2 people. Yes, in this situation. I will only explain to these 2.
For now, I just want Andrew to focus. Focus and Focus. I guess this is the process of life, trials and temptations, pain and joy, happiness and sadness.. everything comes together.
So Andrew, please do well for me in your exams k? =) I want you to pass with flying colours. Have faith in yourself. Because God is always by your side. Keep Praying for strength and wisdom.
All the BEST!!
As for the other person who matters so much to me too, please forgive me for everything I have caused. =)
Am I destined to have my other half separated from me?
Because every single one of them just has to be.. NOTphysically by my side..
Nevertheless, I shall not lose focus in my studies because I want to excel. Don't worry people, I'm not as emo as you think I am. ;) I just need to get through this. Some time and sufficient strength.
Before I start blasting about the lasagna robber and let my mouth run wild...
I shall present you an oh-so-perfect image of myself to you now. Okaay?
Please give me an applause for the last time. At least.
Gee, Thanks. Pfft.
This was taken during my clubbing night. Yup, I'm wearing my nearly rm 200 outfit. (dress, shoes, earrings and necklace) So not that expensive =D (I'm comforted)
This was the day when I went out on a shopping spree at Damansara.
Yesh. All elegant for now. The next second.. you shall see how sampat I am..
Because...
Some freaking monkey STOLE my food! I was damn pissed!
Sitting in my room.. The clock speaks 9:45 pm..
My mind was filled with the taste of lasagna..
To eat or not to eat.. hmmm...
My positive and negative brain cells were wrestling each other...
In the end, I made up my mind..
So I walked to the common fridge...
In agony.. My box of lasagna was gone!!
*Steams up* . . . Please don't tell me that someone actually ate it without my consent. . . *Searches through the freezer* . . Nevermind. I shall look into the bin to reconfirm. . . . First bin... Nothing. . . . Second bin...
I went off to Subang Jaya for 3 days. Partly to look out for buildings and deal with my imperative report in Construction Studies which weighs 40%.
Apparently, there weren't any distinctive buildings in SJ. I personnally think that the nearest one would be Sunway Pyramid. But then, it doesn't give a sense of sophistication as it tends to protrude a tourist sorta aura.
Hence, I have decided to settle down with one of the infrastrutures in Putrajaya. (Which is very far from Cheras)Joy. It is said that Putrajaya raises the most outstanding and elegant buildings in KL. I've managed to google up such sayings and it is indeed very true.
I think this is called the Putrajaya Tower.
Impressive buildings but I do not know their names.
Anyways, I should be dropping by Putra sometime next week. Wish me all the best! =)
So here's an explaination about my shopping spree. I met up with a couple of friends in SJ. Travelling around this time wasn't torturing because one of them has a car to drive us around. Rather then taking public transports which can be quite dreadful and tedious. Especially uncomfortable. Pfft.
I spent so much money this weekend. I bought accessories from this shop called Diva London.
A pair of Earrings which costs rm 29.90
rm 29.90 necklace
rm 69.90 black dress
A pair of rm 55.20 Vincci Heels (After 20% discount)
Lastly, a pair of rm 62.90 Summit Heels (After 10% discount)
Except the Summit Heels (Times square, this afternoon), I bought the others from One-U Damansara last night. Friends have decided to go clubbing, and I went shopping for an outfit with them.
As for clubbing? I got high but I wasn't drunk. That's all you need to know. ;) Don't expect me to be drinking lots of alcohol because I barely drank a shot. And I can get high over a few sips. I wonder why?
Uni? Hmm.. I'm concentrating during the weekdays. I love my course and I'm doing well. That's what you need to know. ;)
Someone's turning old again today. We went celebrating for Shea Li at Mcdonald's yesterday evening. About 1km away from our campus.
Nope. Don't ever think about us going to an uptown restaurant. We spent too much money on architecture materials.
Nevertheless, Shea Li was still grateful and happy with the lil celebration at Mcd. After all it's the thoughts that count, don't you agree? =P
Initially, I was dressed in an old t-shirt, jeans and bathroom flip flops. Yes, the bathroom flip flops are just gay. -.- I thought, Don't need to dress so nice la. It's Mcd.
We were actually running late because Suevy was darn slow. Lol. Then she came into my room, dressed up.
I was like.. 'Why are you dressed so nice?!' 'Why are you wearing so sui bian?!?!?!' (with that face) O.O'I don't know?! It's just Mcd. Omg.'
So yes. I had to rush. I didnt know what to wear. I was panicking all over the place. Pulling clothes out of the wardrobe and smacking some foundation onto my face with the unequal eyeliner on both eyes. All because of the rush. O.O I looked ridiculous. Suevy had to adjust my make up for me.
Visualize this, both of us were wearing short skirts, running out of our campus, by the road, across the flyover, covering our butts as we walked up the stairs, pushing through the crowds in the pasar malam, just to get to Mcd. O.O We sweated like pigs. It wasn't a pretty scene because we looked so sampat.
So yesh. Got a cake for Shea Li.
HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY DEAR!! =)
The guys dressed like crap. WTH. Pfft.
Can you believe it? Every single one of them thinks that I look like Mr. Mcd. They insisted me to take a pic with him because of the great resemblance I have.
Heck no, it's not a compliment because I dont look that ugly. HAHA!!! They told me that I would look exactly like Mr. Mcd if I dyed my hair red and powdered my face white.
Come on people. I need justice. You cant possibly agree with them. -.-
Yea yea yea~~ More Poses 'directed' by them. (Check out the background to figure out the moves that we're doing)
I know. Wrong arm for me. Pfft. *rolls eyes* HAHAHAHAHA!!
Suevy insisted on being this dude.
Ruan Jing Tian (Everyone calls him that) Notice that the purple thing behind him has something stuck on it. O.O *hint: fries on its ahem*
Now dont look at me like that. It wasnt us who did such a sick thing. It was there when we went in. There was this trios staring at us from the outside. It was damn rude.
I love the rosy cheeks that I gave her. =D
A pose which will be reused over and over. xD
It was a very last minute thing. But we had fun. =) Of course, we were not done yet.
After that, we went back to the hostel, waxed our legs. HAHA! I know. So random huh? Actually it was only me doing that. Then, Jia Pey ended up waxing legs with me too. Slowly, Suevy, Angeline and Alice came watching us wax our legs. Freaking gay.
The clock struck 12. Aka. Shea Li's birthday.
But this time, only among the girls. =)
Lucky girl. 2nd birthday cake.
The cake became so ugly after we ate up all the decorations on it.
Although we were clearly aware of the classes that we were going to have from 8am-630pm the second day, We still stayed back and talked till 4am. We're a bunch of kpo aunties.
As a result, facing the harsh consequences, most of us almost fell asleep in class this morning and afternoon.
I can say, a few of us slept in class. I was nodding off when I copied notes. I rmbr writing 'you see' as 'yose'. etc etc. Suevy was drawing till she fell asleep on the table. Jia Pey was complaining about her droopy eyes. Angeline got a swollen purple eye because she banged her eye on her bf's car door. DAMN FUNNY.
Here's something they drew on my fingers when I was sleeping for a bit in Intro to Structure class. I was so tired to a point of not feeling it.
That's why they took advantage of me. Nasty. HAHA.
The gayest thing that happened today: As I've mentioned earlier on, I was sleeping in my class while waiting for my lecturers to come in. I thought I should take a short nap so I can concentrate later. Not only my friends abused my nails, they gave me a huge shock too.
I remember sleeping so sweetly, and all of a sudden, I felt a strong nudge on my shoulder, 'WEY! WAKE UP! Teacher is here!!' I was like.. 'Oh man!! crap!!'
The moment I lifted up my head and looked around, I saw no one. I literally nearly killed them while they were laughing so loudly at me.
As for me, I couldnt be bothered but just went back to sleep. I rmbr it wasnt for long, probably in a minute's time, I felt a huger and harsher nudge, saying, 'ANGIE! WAKE UP!!!!'
I couldnt be bothered to listen instead I carried on sleeping.
It felt so nice... I could still hear Jia Pey and Suevy shouting. 'WAKE UP!'
The moment I turned my blur head up, I saw my lecturer looking at me. HOW AWKWARD. Hahaha!! She gave me a light poke and said, 'Wake up..'
Monday finally came yesterday. I submitted my project. I'm actually quite proud of myself. More to the fact of completing the project a week ago because of the S'pore trip. Haha. Everyone were required to submit their projects else we would fail the semester. Pfft.
See my checkered babies?
Everyone did a great job. Some of them did the project so well!
Impressed.
We have design principles for 6 hours on Monday. Undeniably, sometimes we get kinda bored and.. distracted? =D In order to keep ourselves awake, we would do stupid things like.. comparing each others' skin colour. Yes. In class.
Eric. Jia Pey. Me. Angeline
We got so carried away, and started talking about Ah Lians. Hahah. Aka. Lala-s. That's what they call them here in West Malaysia. I guess most of you know how an Ah Lian acts and looks like. In case you dont know, check it out at Wikipedia. I cant believe Wikipedia actually has that term. -.- what the heck?!
We came out with stupid videos. After saying how much Ah Lians love to 'act cute act cute' and say.. 'aiyor.. so kawaiiiiii worrr....' hahaahhaa!! and all those crap! xD seriously! I cant stand ah lians!!! >< style="text-align: center;">
Btw, it was their idea to record me. wth. O.O
Later I got Angeline to do it because she was laughing so loudly at me opposite my table.
Pfft.
Apparently her finger nails were too long. That's why she couldnt do it so well.
DAMN FUNNY!!
As for today, I went shopping at Mid Valley with Chong, Ryan and Jia Pey. Many gay things happened there. Haha. I watched Angels and Demons once again.
I bought a slice of
choc mudcake.
Was thinking to have it for breakfast.
But i have finished about.. 90% of the cake before bedtime.
O.O
I also bought a top which costs RM 38.40. After 20% discount.
I'm freaking desperate to buy clothes and shoes.
I dont know why.
Anyways, Someone came knocking on my door after I showered just now. I was damn freaked out SIA!
Guess what I saw...
I saw...
THIS!
It took me quite a while to recognise who this weird green thing was...
What the heck?! It was Suevy la!!! One of my gang buddies. -.-
She told me that she went knocking on Alice's and Jia Pey's doors.
Apparently, duh, they got the same reaction as I am.
This is how Suevy looks like in real person.
I told you. I hang out with friends who look normal but are crazy and gay, just like me.
MY SPECIES.
'And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.'
Pic of the day:
3 Roses speak
'I love you...'
'You are the only reason...'
Time really does fly. Before I even know it, I'm already back in my hostel, sitting at the table, getting into blogger and just start blogging about my short trip to S'pore.
3 days felt really fast. I arrived SG at about 5.05pm. My flight was delayed for about an hour and 15 mins. Air Asia. It's very typical.
Due to that, my plans got cancelled. I was suppose to meet up Bry, Cheryl, Natty, Melissa and the others for dinner. In the end, they had to start without me. =(
But it's alright, because I will stop by S'pore another time and meet up with them once again. I felt that I had to meet this one person. Definitely. Because I havent seen him for nearly 2 years. And this would be my cousin, Jordan. Someone I call Teck Koko. He has been living with me for half my life. That's why he means so much to me.
We maybe cousins, but he has always been a brother to me. =)
I know. I was freaking shocked when I saw his hair. Too blonde! O.O
Ervin was my tour guide in S'pore. Just like how he has promised to bring me around when I was in Brunei. =) We went to Orchard road that evening.
David. Ervin. Teck Koko.
Walking along Orchard Road brought back memories of myself 10 years ago..
I remember.. (1) Myself playing 'snow' outside Tang's. Aritificial snow, which were actually bubbles. (2)Running around with my cousins while my aunt and mum were doing X'mas shopping. (3) Bugging my mum to buy me Mcd for dinner and supper. (4) Getting a set of Mickey Mouse cutleries. I was so happy! (5) Seeing many good looking big jiejies and kokos holding hands. I didnt understand at that time. Obviously they were dating. Duh! (6)Getting lost in one of the shopping places in Orchard because I was too engrossed with a beautiful cake in the bakery shop. My aunt was freaking out! (7)Getting lost at the traffic light. I turned my head somewhere else and when I looked back, my aunt was gone. I stood there, scared. Waiting for my aunt to come back for me.. In a few mins time, she came running along, looking for me. That freaked her out, again. O.O
Lots of memories.
The second day, I 'demanded' Vin to take me to the Zoological garden. aka Zoo. I miss the zoo, because I remember that I loved going there so much when I was young. Basically, I just wanted to feel what I felt when I was 7 years old (12 yrs ago).
I couldnt really remember the entire place. Only certain areas.
So yea. We walked around. I took loads of pics of the animals. But I'm just posting up a few due to time.
I love the Siberian Tigers.
Interesting. I never knew that.
Elephant painting.
Beautiful art work done by an Elephant.
Her name is Jati.
Another painting.
By Gambir.
I was really impressed by these elephants.
A huge elephant skull.
An iron tortoise.
Freaking FAT Snake sleeping in the water. ?!?
A female rhino giving a huge piss! O.O
Lastly, this is my favourite pic. =)
I got kissed by a seal!! Yes. It's real!!! Huge.
How adorable can that be?! OMG. EEEEK!
After the zoo, I went for a service in City Harvest Church held at S'pore Expo. It has always been my dream to go there. I wanted to experience the tremendous annointing. =) It is a church with a total of 24k ppl. In this service, there was about 10k. All I can say is, I'm glad that I have finally fulfilled my dream. =)
That night, I met with Bert too. Caught a movie with friends. Watched Angels and Demons at 12.40 am till 3am!! I fell asleep in between 1-2am. O.O too tired. Dont get me wrong, when I woke up to watch the remaining of the movie, I can say that it is really good! =) Must watch!
After the movie, I told Vin that I wanted to have Mcd for supper. So yea. The others joined. We had supper till 4am. Went back to my cousin's place at around 4.30 am. Very tiring. But it was fun.
I slept in that morning. Guess what, it was Sunday already. How quick. My flight is at 3.50pm. So there you go, I barely had anytime in S'pore. Too few days to go around the whole of S'pore. Probably next time, when it's a school holiday. I will pop by this wonderful childhood place of mine. =) It will never ever change.
I maybe Malaysian, but I can say that I love S'pore more than Malaysia. Just have to admit that it's a better place because of its safety, cleanliness and etc. =)
A quick post here. I've travelled to LCCT, KL. Yes! Alone. See how independent I am?? Muahahaha!! Now, I'm waiting to be boarded onto the plane in 40 mins time to Singapore. I'm so excited. Because I havent been to SG for 10 years. Very sad ok? SG is the only place which has carved the deepest memory in my mind since I was a young child. I remember I love going there so much.
Finally this day came, I'll be there from Friday till Sunday. If it wasn't for school on Monday, I would have stayed longer. Pfft!! Hmm. Shouldnt be too greedy rite? Since I'm in KL, going down to SG shouldnt be much of a problem. =D
So here's my luggage. Freaking heavy. Because of my clothes and laptop in it. Not checking in this trip. Save money. HAHA.
Yea yea yea. Very bored waiting alone. That's why I came online to post. LOL.
My RM 198 Air ticket. Cheap cheap.
Aights, I better get going now. Will blog some more after I'm back from Singapore.
A report from KL. People might be wondering about my interaction with the new enviroment. I shall make this short and sweet. (Because I'm going off to Pasar Malam to eat Lok Lok!! haha!!) Lok Lok is yummy. haaaaaaa~~~
Yes, I am in UCSI university, Cheras KL at the moment. Starting a fresh new chapter of my life and embarking on a new journey.
Orientation day. Which was held 2 weeks ago. Boring.
Dad and bro attended my orientation. Later they left me alone in KL and flew back. sniff.
My room in the Hostel
My bed. duh.
I love my wardrobe. It's huge enough.
Note that every tenant gets a wardrobe of that size, individually. Nice.
My study table.
My room mate is a Nigerian. Nice girl. Compared to her, she is alot neater than me. I'm just temperamental. Can be very messy at times. It's very obvious when you come into my room. You will see that the left side is so neat while the other has things piled up. O.O *whistles* i wonder who? haha. of course, not in this pic. I'm not gonna show you how messy I am.
Second thing, I'm messy but I'm not dirty. Please get that straight. I'm the one who mops the floor all the time.. ding ding ding!! more points!! =D
North Wing UCSI Campus
Gazing out my bedroom window..
I'm lucky that I got the hostel in North Wing because that's where all my courses are held. Even better, this is the newer block of the campus. The south wing is quite far. Need to take a shuttle bus to go to the opposite. So yes, the North Wing campus is for students who take up Engineering and Architecture.
And yes Andrew, if you were here, you will be at the North wing too. =P Because someone is taking Mechanical Engineering. awww.
Ok. I must make this clear. I am taking Interior Architecture, not Interior Design. There's a difference in that. I prefer IA because I'm allowed to to build the interiors and also, design. As for ID, I'm only limited to designing. That's all.
The 'highest' profession for Architecture in UCSI is Architectural Technology. aka. Architects. Followed by IA and ID. The toughest should be Architectural Science. But it's not offered here. Only Lim Kok Wing.
Currently, I'm doing foundation in Architecture. Basically, in the same group with all the students who take up architecture. In foundation we are required to take 5 subjects for the 1st sem: (1) Design Principles (2) Construction & Material (3) English Communication (4) Communication & Drafting 1 (5) Introduction to Structure
We have about the least, 3 hours per subject. the most, 6 hours a week. It's ok. Frankly, I enjoy what I'm studying now. It's alot better than biology and the other sciences. Those are too academic wise. Pfft.
Imagine how life is gonna be without friends. Sad and lonely. Haha. Here is my new bunch of friends. We all take the same course, foundation in architecture.
I am so glad that I've found my group of buddies. I just click so well with all of them. All of them are from West Malaysia. I'm the oddball. pfft.
My very first art work. Exercise 1: Points, Lines and Planes
Exercise 2: Patterns and Texture Dont ask me why. I hate the drawing so much. Freaking ugly! I think I study bio too much. Thats why the further LEFT circles look like atoms. O.O
Angelina and Angeline can click so well with each other. I can say, this girl is the one who can laugh and gay so much with me! She is freaking gay and hilarious too!! LMAO.
Dont ever let her looks deceive you. She is not what you expect her to be. ;) Trust me.
My very first model Exercise 3: Making 2D circles to 3D
Today, during my construction and material class, we had to take down lecture notes. But guess what, they lecturer was darn fast in switching the slides. So i took out down these notes using my camera. it was quite cool because Erica and Angeline were doing that too. (with minimal and low noises) It's not allowed actually. But yea. Apparently, there were some morons who took down pictures with a full blast sound. *snap* omg! freaking loud la. The whole theatre could hear. Quite a few 'smart'-arses. Then got warned by the lecturer. Silly right? =.= 3 of us really wanted to kill them because they were just attracting attention. And our lecturer might have seen us too.
Sneaking behind the seats.
PS. I saw this Singaporean Actor at the pasar malam in cheras just now. OMG! I was freaking crazy. Like running around the whole place following him with some of my friends. So kampong. Like never seen actor before. I literally followed him everywhere. AHHH!!
If you guys wonder who he is, erm.. I dont know his name. I know he has acted in Holland Village before as the villain called Edison. If you have watched the series, you would know him. ;)
so yea. i was crazy. Cause I seldom see actors walking around in public. LOL
It has been nearly a month since I've returned from Manila. These are memories which can never be wiped away from my mind. Not ever.
And of course, the great work of the Lord has come to past and I've elevated spiritually. That's why I will be sharing my experience here. Although this is a really late post but for the Glory of God, I'm much willing and eager to share with you the blessings I have received. Also, hope that you will be able to receive this blessing abundantly.
A picture always speaks a thousand words. This would be the longest post ever. Full of pictures and illustrations, personally from my opinions and feelings. So be prepared! *winks*
6th April 2009 On the First Day...
I stumbled out of bed early that morning. Feeling so excited for the trip. This time, I travelled light. It's unbelievable. I don't know how I've managed to stuff 5 days clothing into a small luggage. The guys were shocked to see my bag. Because theirs were way larger than mine. I was surprised myself too because normally I would be carrying a chunky luggage whenever I'm outstation.
Check in time was 11.30 am. Flight would take off at 1.30pm. My dad dropped me off. And yes, the other church members were there to send us off. I thank them for being so supportive.
Some of them are not in the picture. Probably standing some place else talking.
Before the flight, we stopped by Jollibee for lunch. Mainly to taste the Brunei Jollibee before hand and later the Filipino Jollibee. We were keen to know the differences. Why not right?
That's Bryant. Advertising and commenting on the food.
Derek not eating anything. My plate was hidden some where.
We hung around Jollibee for quite some time. Approximately an hour. What's next?
Whee. Walking into the plane.
That would be Aunty Helen. She was the only lady who I was going to stay with in Manila.
My seat mate in the plane.
David always gives that face. Get used to it.
Which one would you prefer?
Fish and Potatoes...
or
Chicken and Garlic rice?
Fortunately I picked the right one. aka. F&P. The chicken one didn't taste that nice. That's what I heard. Yeaa. We had Jollibee earlier on. Feeling full actually. But what's not to eat?
Two hours on the plane felt like a dash. Especially with a bunch of friends I felt so comfortable with.
Viewing Manila hundreds of feet above ground.
Arriving at 3.30 pm. The typical procedures.. Went through immigration and security.
Richmond's family came to support us. The petite and sweet girl would be Maricel and the other is her cousin, Rachelle. Of course, I'm the giant. As always. =.=
Gotten our bags and waiting for our drivers to come.
Happiness and excitement across everyone's face.
Don't mind Bry. That's his ultimate pose. Anyways, do you notice the people standing in the background? All clamped together like sardines. Yup. Those are a bunch of patient individuals waiting to pick up their friends and family. Security is really tight and strict in Manila. They are not allowed to cross the road and walk into the airport. Quite interesting to witness a scene like that. Because arrivers like us feel like super stars walking out of the airport with hundred pairs of eyes on us.
Our drivers came. 2 vans each with one sided door to the back seats. It was so funny and I can never forget this. We were so used to opening the door from the left, so we walked to the left side. And we couldnt find the door! Later we realized that.. Oh yes! Filipino vehicles and Driving are like the Americans. That means our side door should be on the right. It was really embarrassing because the filipinos waiting at the opposite were looking at the bunch of us walking towards an imaginary door. *laughs*
In the Van.
MABUHAY!!!!
Means 'Welcome' in tagalog.
Traffic that day was really light because it was a public holiday. Hence it didn't feel that long on the road to our destination.
I specially admire, enjoy buildings and infrastrutures in the city. I love to see how these skyscrapers are erected from the grounds and also the unique strutures expressed by the architects. For people who share the same interest as I do, you would enjoy looking at the pictures because I took a few. And for people who don't erm.. let's just drag past this quickly, shall we? XD
We were on our way to the most expensive area in Manila.
Makati.
I couldn't take my eyes off these beautiful la-di-daS. Every single building projects such a posh aura.
My passion is to study them.
Residential Building (Condominium)
Shopping area
The Peninsula Fountain. I love this! I took sooo many pictures of this particular fountain from the car. It wasnt that easy because the car moves a lil when the traffic is clear. That tends to blur the image quite often.
One of the shopping Malls.
Due to safety reasons, we stayed in one of the service apartments in Makati. (Fraser Place) I was expecting it to be a very casual looking apartment until I went into the lobby.
The Lobby
Pastor Pete was settling some paperwork at the front desk while young people like us would just fool around the lobby. Waiting for our bags to be carried and checked into the apartment.
Acting Kampong.
My Brothers in Christ and I
Speaking of Kampong, when we first went into the apartment, we literally acted that way. Going all.. 'wow!' 'so big!' If you were there, you would be able to see how uncivilized we acted when we just arrived.
I mean.. why not? The whole place was sooo luxurious and spacious.
I myself couldn't believe that this was just an apartment. It looks like a super high class hotel. Later, we realized that it was because of the area we were staying at. Then it made perfect sense to us.
So here's it.. More pictures of the place. I love interior achitecture. That's why I adore taking pictures of the room from different angles.
The living room
Great blend of colours between the white couch and bright coloured pillows.
My favourite..
The Dining area
Incase you're wondering how it looks like at night..
I didnt get to take all pics of every single room because the guys are in them. Didnt wanna just barge in and take pictures. Basically, there are.. 4 rooms and 5 toilets in this apartment. Fitting 9 people.
At least, I've managed to go into the master bedroom's toilet. That's where Bry, Dave and Josh stayed. Of course not the toilet, I meant the room. Duh! haha.
Bry getting fascinated with the shower cubicle. tsk tsk.
A big hot tub just for them. pfft!
The study room
Living room shot from my bedroom doorstep.
Kenny and his guitar.
The kitchen
My Queen Size bed. Sharing with Aunty Helen.
After checking in and dumping our bags, we headed off to an annointing service hosted by the organiser (Pastor Romeo Gueverra) of the Jesus Festival. On the road, this is what I saw.. I was freaking fascinated because the guy looked so relaxed in a middle of a massive traffic. Posing.
Annointing service
Over 20 representatives from various churches came to this meeting. That includes our team from Brunei too. We were the one and only foreign group.
The purpose was to gather all worship teams together and pray for the upcoming festival.
As it was our first night, we were taken by the organiser himself to this restaurant called DAD'S for dinner. Buffet style.
The guys gobbled up their food like there was no tomorrow.
My first plate of Filipino food. It was nice.
There were varieties. ie. Western, chinese, filipino, Indian etc. I could resist all except..
Sushi!!
I had 2 rounds of this.
Filipino dish
My Ice Lemon Shake
The fish came with the shake. So whoever picked a glass of any kind of shake gets a toy fish. The boys seemed to be crazy about the fishies.
Of course not excluding me. I got a green swordfish. Though I would prefer Dave's one. (Purple) Josh is holding it btw. It looks really good.
Dining together
Learning new words like.. 'Pogi-Ako' (I'm handsome) 'Maganda-Ako' (I'm Beautiful)
Bloated, we went back to Fraser's. As usual, Bry and Rich can never put down their guitars. They simply love to experiment all kinds of chords on the guitar. I laughed so much when they came up with a song called the Z-chord. The laughter went on intensely after I saw the video they made. Darn funny. I was literally laughing and rolling all over the place.
That night, the team got together for a meeting, briefing all the P&W songs for the youth conference (the following day). Briefing was really late. Around 11pm till 2am. I fell asleep on the couch as Kenny (worship leader) was talking. I dont understand why the guys were still so energetic.
I'm still awake here.
Lazy Bry
Anyways, I was given the priority to sleep first because they saw how tired I was.
7th April 2009 On the second day...
I woke up fresh and not cranky (winks to someone).
This would be Aunty Helen. She is such a great and loving person. Always looking out for me. Just like my second mum when I was in Manila. =)
Breakfast time.
Lazing around with the guys.
Every morning, before setting off our journey, we would all gather & pray for God's mercy and power upon us. Guiding and providing us a fruitful day.
Finally, we're off into the vans.
Ps. Pete and his 2 sons. (Dave and Josh)
A statue which I see everyday.
Local transportations.
Guess where we stopped by for lunch??
JOLLIBEE!!!
Spaghetti Bolognaise
The difference between Brunei's Jollibee Spaghetti and Fili's is the concentration of the sauce. The guys preferred the thick sauce. Aka. Fili Sauce. I had my own comments.
Satisfied Hearty Meal.
Our two Chauffeurs. They did a really great job bringing us around.
WE LOVE JOLLIBEE!!
Haha!! how cheesy is that?! XD
We left for the Youth Conference in Marikina City after lunch. Journey was about an hour due to the traffic jam. Most of us fell asleep in the car.
Getting off the car, trying to get our minds fresh and awake. Look at Dave stretch his arm and adjusting his pants in the background. Haha. That's what we did after getting down the car. Zzz.
Carrying their respective instruments.
Tired but Excited.
We were given a room backstage.
Running through the songs.
Yes. We were ready to rock out there! =)
Welcome to Rise Up Youth Conference!
Introducing.. From Left to right: Bry & Rich (Electric Guitar), Josh (Acoustic), Dave (Drums), Me (Keyboard), Derek (Bass) and Kenny (Worship leader)
We got the crowd to Praise God together.
Of course, the vital part, worshipping him.
Passionate youths crying out for Jesus during P&W.
A total of 1500 young people.
It was a great experience. After the event, the Filipinos rushed up to stage and got our autographs. They looked up to us so much because they knew we came from Brunei, A country where the spreading of the gospel is so limited and controlled. They were impressed with our great love for God nevertheless the enviroment we were in.
Taken outside the auditorium
Here's a trailer made by our church at the Youth Conference. Background music isnt played by us. Our pastor got different clips of us and pasted them together. Applying the organiser's christian song.
After the conference, we were brought to this middle-class food court. In Phillippines, places are often categorised as low, middle or high class.
An average class food court to taste the local food.
Sinigang Soup. (Sour) I really love this so much! It tasted so good!
My number one Filipino dish. Called the Odobo.
Most Fili dishes have vinegar in them. As I am a fan of vinegar, now you see why I enjoy Fili food so 'agressively'.
The customer Lounge.
In case you're wondering what a customer lounge is.. It is actually a toilet. I was extremely surprised to see a middle class food court toilet. It looks so high class and clean.
Not exaggerating, the toilet had no difference compared to a hotel bathroom. It was sparkly clean, and air conditioned! Amazing!
Dinner was satisfying. Nearby, just across the road was the 'high end' area. That's where all the rich filipinos hang out.It was called the Bonifacio High Street. One of the most expensive streets in Manila.
Walking into the high end.
An expensive furniture shop
Italian Products
An artistic bench
Handbags.. Shoes.. = Women's paradise!
A beautiful fountain.
Unfortunately, the picture is too blur, you can barely see anything.
Sitting near a much larger fountain in Bonifacio Street.
Walk walk walk...
David spotted this shop.
David & Goliath is founded in the bible.
Energy drained out, we went back to Fraser's and hit the sack.
8th April 2009 On the Third Day...
The breakfast area
Lamps
26 Floors above ground
Most of the guys didnt go for breakfast. Only people like Aunty Helen, Kenny...
And Josh and I.
Most of the others ended up sleeping in. I salute Ps Pete. Because he gets up every morning, exercising in the gym.
Anyways, they couldnt sleep in that much because this was the most important day of our trip.
Camera Effects done by Josh.
After the morning meeting, we left Fraser's for Marikina City. Where the Jesus Festival was held at. By the way, Marikina is actually known as one of the cleanest cities in the Philippines.
Also, something very out of the blue.. I always see this on the road. The taxi or should I say public transport always has these wordings on the back of their vehicle.
How's my Driving?
I felt gay seeing it for first time because I thought about punking. Haha! Nah. I'm just kidding. It just gives me an impression to punk. I'm not that mean. ;)
Half way through the journey, we stopped by for lunch at our very FIRST chinese fast food restaurant in Manila.
We were there Ching-Chong food eaters in Fili.
Aunty Helen enjoys Yam ice cream. I tried some.. It's nice. But I'm not really a fan of yam.
Ching-Chong food rules!! Go Chow King!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
We carried on our journey to this very old hotel.
I was really sleepy. So I fell asleep in the van. Most people did actually.
This was where Richmond's family stayed.
So, we checked into this place for about 8 hours.
Mainly to freshen up ourselves before the major event we were going to have that night.
Excited musicians carrying their instruments as they checked in the hotel.
Only the Drummer and I didnt have to carry our instruments.
How nice!
The hotel room was really old. And it looked very 70s to me.
Yup. Aunty Helen was still my roomie.
At least the place was clean. That's what matters most.
A simple sparkling clean bathroom.
The Jesus Festival Night finally came.. It started from 4.30pm (9th April) - 6am (10th April).
That night Acts 29 was given a 40mins slot to be up on stage by the Riverbend of Marikina City.
Here's the 'crucial' moment of our lives. (9.20pm - 10pm)
Bringing the Annointing of God all the way From Brunei!
The presence of Holy Spirit was so intense. Crowd was huge.
Approximately 5000-7000 people were there to witness this spectacular moment when our team was leading P&W.
Filipinos are very devoted Christians. It was so touching to see the crowd raising up their hands and just surrendering their lives to the LORD.
At 12 midnight, the organiser's (Pastor Romeo) team was leading Praise and Worship.
The open space amphitheater was hit with 10 000 people.
The climax of the Festival
Receiving God's unconditional love for us.
Our team came together and prayed backstage after the P&W.
Giving thanks and praise to God for his supernatural strength and promise.
In the Book of Philippians: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'
Photo-taking with the Bass player (2nd from left) and
Worship leader (4th from left) of Pastor Romeo's team.
After the event, we went to a nearby restaurant which was like a canopy. We got a great view of the entire event from up there.
Makan-ing.
Rich trying to get this shot perfect a several of times.
Dave was really happy that night. I wonder why? ;) Only we knew what he was thinking. ;)
Dave got this from his fan.
Nothing better to do.
Never put Mark Jay and Dave together. They always go cuckoo and startle everyone with their laughter. Look at them.. Like a bunch of Drunkards! Pfft!
I really love this picture. It is soo.. typically BFF!
Best Friends Forever.
Of course it would look alot better without Kenny in the background. Crop crop! ahh! im so mean!! *laughs*
Back down at the site
Group photo with Ps. Romeo and his wife (blonde hair)
We left the place at about 1am.
Also, our pastor made a trailer for this event. Just like how it is done for the youth conference. ie. different video clips of us throughout the 40mins slot, put together and using the organiser's music for the background.
9th April 2009
On the Fourth day...
We went for late lunch because all of us slept in that day. It was such a great sleep because of the event the night before.
Lunch was at a restaurant in Makati.
Very near Fraser's.
I love the clock at the entrance of Giligan's.
The interior
Hunrgy people tend to do funny things.
Other than Bry, Dave is just like my lil bro too.
2 brothers. The younger one always annoys and disturbs the older one. I don't know why. Where's the justice in that?
Aunty Helen looks like she is squeezing in for the shot. Haha.
Back to these 2 again. When they were hungry, they made faces. But after a hearty meal, they try to role play. I don't understand them.
Bry is actually playing a lost Japanese dude and Derek the white tourist.
A chinese way of saying: Chicken and duck communicating.
Rachelle and Maricel visited Fraser's that day.
Bird cage
Yes. A beautiful blue love bird.
Nice fur
I felt so happy doing the works of God in Manila. Felt that it was tedious but I was so joyful. Practically everyday we serve the Lord. So this was our last stop. A church in the outskirts of Manila. One of our church members back in Brunei came from here.
A very simple church with the pulpit.
As cheerful as ever.
Ps. Pete shared the word that night. With an interpreter next to him.
Everyone were very attentive that night.
People responding to the altar call and repenting.
It was my first time to lay my hands upon the youths. Challenging, but I asked God for strength and wisdom through my words. It turned out to be excellent. Praise the Lord. Because that night, many youths' lives were touched and most of them broke down in tears.
After completing God's call. The guys went back to Fraser's and conducted their own Hot Jacuzzi club. O.O
Yes. I know it's inappropriate for me to go into the bathroom because I'm a girl. But they didnt mind. They were like.. 'Come in la Ange!!' Hanging out with these bunch of dudes made me one of them too. That period, I ate and talked like them. Very unlady like.
I had no choice, because if I wasnt fast with my food, they would have gobbled up everything. I remember they ate up my Mcd fries. Supper. I was quite upset. Pfft! But those were great memories. Starting to think about those times really makes me laugh. I love them!
Don worry. Nothing X-rated here. Because they were in their Boxers. Lol.
Introducing.. Bry and his typical pose.
Rich sucking up the Sprite bottle.
Dave giving that look.
Mark Jay trying to make music out of the bottle.
The extra 'dude' who didnt join them in the tub.
They made videos in the jacuzzi. I was the camera 'man'. About 4 videos but I dont have the time to upload them because it's so time consuming. Trust me. Those videos were hilarious. OMG. XD
All fresh and clean.. MJ imitating Bry. -.-
Welcome to the Guy Club.
I can never comprehend these 2 weirdos. All I know is.. Bry is trying to communicate with Derek using a fish and Derek using an iron. Probably by these 'devices' they would understand each other's languages. I have no idea. Haha.
10th April 2009 On the 5th (last) day... First thing that morning.. This is what we saw..
Still No idea what's going on?
Take a look at this..
Yup. We were smart enough to leave gas drinks in glass bottles like these in the fridge overnight. Due to low temperature, vigorous movements of gas particles causes the collision of molecules against the walls of the glass bottle. Resulting the bonds in glass to break.
By the way, I am bad at physics. I guess that explains why I left the Sprite bottle in the fridge. The bottom part of the bottle cracked open.
A total mess!
Last meal in Fili. This is where we went..
Shangri-La Hotel (aka The most Expensive hotel in Manila)
Pastor brought us to Shangri-La's restaurant for a thanksgiving lunch. It costs 1000 pesos for each person. Buffet style. It isnt that expensive when you convert to Brunei currency. Only $30. But it was expensive for the locals because on average, their salary was 1000 pesos per week.
I find this buffet very reasonable because there was a huge variety of food. It was like a food paradise. So much to eat, but limited space for my tummy.
I was thinking of taking pictues of the entire place... Unfortunately..
Just after 2 shots, I was stopped by the security. No kidding, Security was very tight there. No camera on food whatsoever.
This was just me sneaking. Because I couldnt help it. I love my desert!
Too bad. These were the only pics.
After lunch, we went off to this park. See that huge, tall sculpture?
It was built by Aunty Helen's husband 26 years ago for the ASEAN games!!
Never knew we had such a huge piece of Brunei 'essence' in Manila. The great thing is, it's from someone we know. Someone so close to us from church. Haha!!
Back to the hotel once again. Preparing to go for a swim. I'm in a bath robe. Not PJs ok.
Fraser's swimming pool..
Sunbathing
View taken from opposite of the pool area.
Same dude club.
Getting rough in the waters.
Showing off his boxers. Pfft.
Josh was the quiet one. Or should I say, the poised one? He didnt wanna get into the pool. Instead, he did a great role by helping us take pictures.
I love this shot.
Wheeeeeee!!!!
There's always a season for everything. Our moment has finally arrived. It was time for us to pack up and go home. Back to Brunei. Some parts of me felt reluctant. As for Derek, I guess he was the only who was looking forward to go back. He felt so homesick. Haha.
Checking in at the airport.
Carrying these babies back too.
It was a night flight, but we were still energetic. Never sleepy.
Happy and proud of what we have accomplished in Manila.
This is a video taken in the plane on the way back. Something random by some of the guys. But it was a good laugh after all.
I have finally completed this post. Took me so long because I have been so busy. And also, it's so time consuming to upload all the pictures. I think easily, there are about 200 pics in this post. I'm never tired because I wanna share with you the great things that God has done in Acts 29's lives. The Glory goes to him. Amen.
-A Prophesy. A commitment. A Promising & Abundant Blessing.-
I have came to this point of taking a step of courage and onto the path of independence. Frankly, It doesn't feel that great at all. I miss my family. I miss my Brunei Friends, My church back home.. Everything here seems to be so alienated to me. At times I wonder why am I even here?
Ahh. I know its normal to feel this way because most people will feel homesick for the first few weeks or possibly months. I have tried not to think about my parents neither my friends. But.. since yesterday evening. I got all so emotional and weak. I missed everyone. Andrew called me and talked to me for quite a while (sorry about the telephone bill baby) And I got my mum to call me. Of course, I couldn't help it.. And there was me crying all over the phone, telling her how much I missed her.
Sucky feeling it is. Doesnt feel good at all. Later, dad called me too. And My church leader, Miss Pushpa gave me a ring. Indeed, i felt alot better. Internet was down at that time, my room mate was out, hostel was quiet (though i can hear some girls laughing and chattering away in the nearby room). The feeling was insane. Loneliness struck me. I was basically staring at all 4 walls.
I felt so down to a point of feeling lazy and just restless to go make or buy dinner for myself. I couldnt be bothered to take a shower. All i felt like doing was just sit in bed and sob. My tummy was grumbling away till 11pm. And finally, by mum's power, she managed to convince me to go freshen up myself and get something to eat.
Comforted.
Of course, thanks to Vin for transferring Christian music into my laptop. At least those kept me company. I didnt wanna listen to the worldly music because it would make me more depressed. I chose to listen to God's music. Indeed, I felt alot refreshed. Here's the thing.. I need to listen to a christian song.. at least once a day. Else I would feel really drained out.. My soul needs to be fed.
I attended City Harvest Church today. It is a really great church. I would be going there instead. Met new friends and they are really great people. Thank God.
Anyways, I truly believe that by keeping myself busy will distract me from feeling lonely. Classes start tomorrow. 9am-630pm. O.O I dont think I would have the time to get all homesick. More to feeling tired I guess. Definitely better than homesick.
Well, I have long days on Monday and Thursday. Tues and Wed are bearable. And the great thing is.. I have no classes on Friday.
Here's a beautiful poem I found online about Homesickness.
Heal my heart and make it clean Open up my eyes to the things unseen Show me how to love like you have loved me Break my heart for what breaks yours Everything I am for your kingdom's cause As I walk from earth into eternity
