Hello peeps. Im back in Brunei again. The journey for those two days was tedious. Unlucky and bad stuffs had happened. I thank the Lord so much for his protection.
On the way back from Kuching to Sarikei (380 km approx), my family and I got into a terrible accident. We left Kuching at about 4pm. It would normally take 5hours to arrive Sarikei. On the way, its was raining heavily.
So we came to this point where it was 26.5km from Sarikei at 8.45pm. This is exactly where the accident had happened. Even as I describe the scene, it gives me the chills and fear. Here's a simple diagram which I've sketched to guide you with my description. So at least you can have a clear idea of what I'm talking about. Thats our vehicle, the land cruiser (in purple).

My mum was the driver of the journey. I was sitting in front. While dad was behind me and CJ was behind my mum. It was dark as there were no lamp posts except for random cars passing by once in a while. It was a normal shower of rain.
As we were heading towards the sharp bend of the cliff, I started to worry whether mum was treating that as a straight road. So I turned to look at her for a while. I didnt want to startle her by saying, 'hey that's a bend!' because I feel that it isnt good to distract the driver. But as she drives past the middle dotted lines on the road. I felt that something wasnt right. I looked at her. Her eyes didnt seem to worry neither afraid.
In less than a second I shouted, 'Mum! What are you doing?!' WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!' our car drove past the middle dotted lines and went towards the other side of the road. I screamed. Mum was panicking and dad woke up shouting.
I saw our car dashing towards the barricade of the sharp bend highway. I thought we were going to go pass the barricade and fall of the cliff. I was freaking out and I kept screaming. I heard a bang and we stopped. Thank god, we were held back by the 'half broken' barricade. That's why Our car didnt topple of the cliff.
Mum and Dad told us to get down the car. Immediately, I opened the door and tried to drag mum out of her seat. So that she can come out from my side. While dad took CJ with him. It was freezing cold. I took off my jacket and put it around CJ. My family and I got down to see the car. It was tilted 35 degrees against the barricade. I felt a sudden chill and I started shaking all over.
'We could have died if that barricade didnt hold.' I told my parents. My legs and entire body were shaking all over. My teeth were clattering because of the coldness. My parents voices were quivering. Even my mum was shaking all over. I was worried that CJ would run off to the road so i grabbed him in my arms. I had to squat down, because my legs couldnt hold me any longer. I was in a total shock. The entire place was dark. Pitch Black. I couldnt see a single thing. Except for the blinking of our car's emergency light.
'What are we gonna do?! I'm so scared.' I kept thinking inside. The rain was getting heavier and the wind was blowing so strongly. CJ squatted down with mum under the umbrella and started praying. Dad was analyzing the car and tried to contact ppl. Mum managed to contact my uncle in Sarikei.
In a few minutes time, a driver stopped by to check on us. He was a kadazan, I think. He tried to help us. So we told him what happened. This is what he said, 'this place is.. *silence*'. from the look of his face. I felt the eerie-ness. I knew what he meant.
Slowly more and more cars, lorries, buses passed by. In the end, we got help from this really friendly foo-chow guy. He called for people to help us drag our car. At the same time, we were waiting for uncle to fetch us. My parents told gave him an explaination about the accident. I could hear my mum saying, 'I tried to turn the sterring but it didnt wanna turn! It just keeps going to the edge of the cliff!' That gave me goosebumps. 'What does she mean by that?!' I thought.
I also heard the guy saying that this cliff is about a hundred plus feet high from the ground. As I didnt understand measurements in feet, I asked my dad for conversion in meters later. So basically,
100 feet = 30 meters
120 feet = 36.58 meters
150 feet = 45.72 meters
180 feet = 54 meters
50 meters is like the length of a national swimming pool. Place it vertically. That would be the depth. I felt so scared and I wanted to cry because I saw everything. The vision is in my head. Flashing vividly. My thoughts went crazy that night. If our car fell off, we would be falling into a 50m deep valley...
My uncle was saying that it is an accident prone area. And almost everyone died. We were really lucky to have survived. Without a single scratch on the body. Just a tyre which was busted badly. We have also heard from many people saying that the area is 'dirty'. Few weeks ago, my cousin has witnessed a car which went turtle at the foot of the hill. Thank god, no one was seriously injured. My cousin had to lend a helping hand to drag the kids out first.
I really thank the LORD for his protection. I wouldnt elaborate more on the supernatural side here in the blog because I cant take writing more about it any longer. It really is giving me the shudders. So whoever reads this and might wanna know about the supernatural side, feel free to ask me in person and I will tell you.
*peace*
